Keyshia Cole's husband is in trouble with the law.

 

Singer Keyshia Cole arrives at the Soul Train Awards 2012. Cole was insulted at the Essence Music Awards, leading to a fight between her husband Daniel Gibson and a man at a nightclub.

Keyshia Cole's husband, pro basketball player Daniel Gibson, was arrested Monday in New Orleans for assault and battery.

Gibson is accused of punching a man at a nightclub July 8, breaking his jaw. The fight started with a verbal argument, police said. The argument was reportedly over disrespectful comments toward Cole.

Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife," the 27-year-old athlete said."It's unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved.

Gibson last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department on Monday and was booked on second-degree battery. He later bailed himself out.
