Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (Getty Images)North West … how did Baby Kimye get that name? On Thursday night, omg! confirmed that was indeed the name of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter, whom the new parents are calling "Nori" for short. So … do you notice anything about that nickname?
Well, if you combine Kim Noel Kardashian and Kanye Omari West's middle names, you get "Nori."
But let's back up.
“Kanye’s ego is something else, so he’s quite serious about the title," a source told The Sun at the time. “He also has a sense of humor though and knows how his self-indulgence is seen by the general public. It’s half tongue-in-cheek, half what Kanye probably feels is true.”
However, one week later, Kardashian, 32, denied that North was a possibility during an appearance on "The Tonight Show."
"That is not true," the reality star told Jay Leno. "That is not one of the names on our list … We have a list and some of them are 'K' names and some of them aren't."
The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star didn't stop with her denial there. Overcompensating, perhaps?
"You know what name I do like but it probably won't be on [our list] ... I like Easton. Easton West. I think that's cute," she said during her appearance, drawing laughter from the audience.
Clearly, Kardashian and West, 35, are getting the last laugh. Who knew she could actually keep a secret from the media?!
Kardashian gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Saturday, June 15, which immediately sent outlets into a tizzy speculating on the name.
E! reported that Kim was telling friends her daughter's name would start with a "K" leading up to the birth. Media Takeout claimed this week that
West's little girl would be named Kaidance, while In Touch accurately
(there's a first time for everything) cited sources saying North West was the winner.

One source insists to omg! there wasn't "drama" between Kim and Kanye when it came to deciding on a name, they simply wanted to take their time choosing the right one.

"North West would clearly be a 'concept name,'" name expert and author Laura Wattenberg from BabyNameWizard.com

male. North is the second most common direction name for boys, after
West. North doesn't have a traditionally name-like sound for either
girls or boys, but parents have generally placed directions on the boys'

girls."
Kardashian and West have left the hospital with their daughter, sources tell omg!, and the family is heading home to rest.
"Kim
and Kanye are over the moon," our source adds about the new parents.
"They both are doting on their little girl. They both seem naturals with
[Nori]. It's really sweet."
